Reorganization

Based on feedback in class I have done a reorganization of the flow of the mobile portion of my project.

-Get Dressed (Here is where you will save outfits)
~tops
~bottoms
~shoes
~accessories
(these will all just be selectable to create an outfit, cut/paste/save)

-My Closet (Here you will organize, send, & view item specifics)

shortcode update

So I managed to get some help with a (free) testing shortcode platform which i'm pretty excited about! It's good to know people :) Once I get the service up and running I will provide numbers for you all to test it out...cross your fingers!

Methodology & Timeline

Methodology:
My methodology is to first do background research. First research of what is out there and then research of tools needed to create said project. I then sketch out my design and create an interactive prototype and sitemap to ensure proper flow. Then I begin production. After I finish, I test the functionality and troubleshoot with the application on the phone. Lastly go back and fix all the errors.

Timeline:

~Initial sketches
~email tamara for samples
~Submit work schedule
~finish wireframes

Update

So i've been doing some research about shortcode and how I can get this to work without purchasing my own shortcode for around $10,000, example. I found a couple sites that might be useful and registered to begin testing and using their api to concoct a solution for my own needs. mozes.com is a site where one can create user generated shortcodes. if you want to test it out text mycloset to 66937 and see what happens. This is the site containing api info that will help me create a set of rules to download items using this same shortcode but with a model number input. Another such site is textmarks , i have yet to fully explore this site but it does the same type of thing mozes does.

I've also decided to integrate a web interface where users will b able to organize their closets more readily and batch process things quickly. This site is where users will register and download the app.
